Where to Buy the Trump Gold Coin: Mint First, Then Resale

Where to buy the Trump gold coin depends on the date. Before November 5, 2026 there is nowhere, because the coin does not exist for sale yet. On the 5th, at noon Eastern, the United States Mint opens sales on its website. One per household. The price goes up on the product page when the sale does, and not before. Everything after that is resale, person to person, and that is what Pure is for: buyers put up bids, owners put up asks, and the whole book is public. The Trump gold coin page on Pure went up on September 9. You can post a bid today if you want one, and if the Mint ships you a coin, you can list it the day it lands.

Buying the Trump gold coin from the US Mint on November 5
Full name: 2026 Semiquincentennial President Donald J. Trump One Ounce 24K Gold Proof Coin, product code 26SQG at the Mint. A troy ounce of .9999 gold with a proof finish and a W for West Point. Face value is $250, which nobody will ever spend. The Mint packs it in a presentation case inside an outer box, certificate of authenticity included.
The sale runs on usmint.gov at noon Eastern with a household limit of one. The price is not posted yet. There is no price because the Mint reprices its gold coins against the weekly LBMA average, and the number can move every week, so the listing just says TBD for now. Other coins on that same grid give a rough sense of scale. In the week of September 11, CoinNews reported, the 2026 Proof Gold Eagle was priced at $5,300 and the Proof Gold Buffalo at $5,340. Those are other coins, and the Trump coin's price is whatever the Mint posts when sales open. The Mint's own listing says dates and prices can change without notice.
Before the 5th:
Use the Remind Me button on the Mint's product page, so the Mint notifies you when the sale opens.
Create your usmint.gov account ahead of time. The sale runs through the Mint's normal checkout.
Have the page open at noon Eastern and refresh then. When the Liberty Bell coins went on sale in July, the Mint's site put buyers into a waiting room at noon and let them through in turn. The checkout itself was ordinary once inside.
Whether this coin sells out is not known. No mintage has been published, and a one-ounce gold proof with no posted price is a different sale from the $1 Trump coin rolls and bags, which the Mint sold through on September 2. The household limit means one Mint order per household, whatever the mintage turns out to be. Design history, the pricing grid, and what the Mint has said on the record are in our Trump gold coin explainer.
Trump gold coin for sale after the Mint: the resale market
The Mint sells each coin once. From then on, ownership changes hands between people and the price is whatever a buyer and a seller agree on. "Sold out" and "currently unavailable" are different states on the Mint's site, and stock sometimes reappears for a day. We wrote up how that works in what happens when a US Mint coin sells out.
After that the coin turns up wherever coins do: a local shop, an online dealer, an auction, a marketplace like Pure. A dealer sets one price. An auction runs on bids with a clock. Pure runs an order book, where buyers post bids, sellers post asks, and every open order on the coin is visible to everyone on the page. Check more than one before you buy.
On Pure, the seller ships the coin to Pure first. Pure tests the coin itself, in house, and only then lists it as Pure Qualified and sends it on to the buyer. That check matters on a coin that is already being copied by plated novelties. There is no marketplace fee for buying. Shipping runs $25 under $10,000 and is free from $10,000 up, every shipment is insured both ways to $125,000, and Pure covers the insurance.
How to buy a Trump gold coin on Pure
Open the 26SQG page. You do not need an account to look; the book is public.
Set up an account and verify your identity. It takes about 15 minutes and you only do it once.
Two ways in. Buy takes the lowest ask on the book. Place a Bid lets you name your price and set how long it stands. Nothing stops you doing that now, weeks before the Mint sale; a bid just sits there until someone accepts it or it expires.
Pay by ACH or wire once your order matches.
The seller ships to Pure, Pure tests the coin, and it ships to you insured.
If the two prices and the Orderbook tab are new to you, how the Pure marketplace works and our beginner's guide to reading an order book cover them.
How to sell a Trump gold coin you got from the Mint
Wait until the coin is in your hands. A listing on Pure is a commitment to ship, so it goes up once the Mint has delivered.
On the product page, click Sell to accept the highest bid on the book, or Place an Ask to set your own price.
Pure sends a prepaid, insured shipping label. Include the capsule, case, box, and certificate.
Pure checks the coin in and tests it, and the order completes.
Payout is automatic, about three business days after check-in, by ACH or check. Seller fees are tiered by quarterly volume and start at 1.5% on this coin.

Which Trump gold coin is which
Three things get called the Trump gold coin. The $1 Trump coin the Mint sold in rolls and bags on September 2 is gold colored and contains no gold. Gold-plated versions of it, and privately made Trump pieces, are not Mint products. The Mint's 26SQG is the one-ounce .9999 gold proof with the W mint mark that goes on sale November 5. Anything offered for delivery before that date is not the Mint's 26SQG. The full breakdown of the three is in the Trump gold coin explainer, and the $1 coin has its own post.
Trump gold coin FAQ
Can I buy the Trump gold coin before November 5?
No. None have been sold yet, so there is nothing to deliver before then. You can set a Remind Me alert on the Mint's page, and if you would rather buy from another owner, you can place a bid on Pure now so it is on the book if sellers list.
Can I buy more than one from the Mint?
The Mint's listing sets a household limit of one. A second coin means buying from another owner, at a coin shop, an auction, or on Pure.
How much will the Trump gold coin cost?
No price has been posted. It is set off the Mint's weekly gold pricing grid and appears on the product page when sales open. Resale prices on Pure are set by the buyers and sellers who post them, and all of them are visible on the coin's page.
Does Pure sell the Trump gold coin new?
No. Only the Mint sells it new. Pure is a peer-to-peer marketplace for the resale: Mint buyers list their coins, buyers post bids, and Pure tests each coin before it ships to the buyer.
Where can I sell a Trump gold coin?
A coin shop, an auction, or Pure. On Pure you list it at your own price or sell into the highest bid, ship on a prepaid insured label, and the payout is sent automatically about three business days after the coin checks in and passes testing.
If the Mint window does not work out for you, the Trump gold coin page on Pure is open now.
