Description
The Perth Mint's 2005 Year of the Rooster in gold, from Lunar Series I: half a troy ounce of .9999 fine gold with a face value of A$50. The coin is 15.55 grams, 25.1 millimeters across and 2.4 thick. The 2005 reverse shows the rooster. As on the rest of Series I, a beaded border frames the Chinese character for the animal, the date, and the weight and purity. The obverse is Queen Elizabeth II, in Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait, with the face value.
