Description
The Perth Mint's 2000 Year of the Dragon in gold, from Lunar Series I: one troy ounce of .9999 fine gold with a face value of A$100. The coin is 31.11 grams, 32.1 millimeters across and 2.8 thick, with a reeded edge. Tony Dean's design shows a traditional Chinese dragon, long and scaled, on four legs, with a pearl. As on the rest of Series I, a beaded border frames the Chinese character for the animal, the date, and the weight and purity. The obverse is Queen Elizabeth II, in Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait, with the face value.
