The 1990 American Gold Eagle, dated MCMXC, holds one troy ounce of fine gold in a 33.931-gram coin of 22 karat gold, 32.7 millimeters across with a reeded edge and a $50 face value. PCGS, the Professional Coin Grading Service, graded and encapsulated it; the grade is printed on this coin's label and is not given in the listing. PCGS grades on the 70-point Sheldon scale, and its site offers a lookup for the certification number on the holder. Gold Eagles carried Roman numeral dates through 1991 and Arabic numerals from 1992.
