Description
The 1987 (MCMLXXXVII) 1 oz American Gold Eagle, PCGS Certified, represents an early and significant issue in the renowned American Gold Eagle series from the United States Mint. Minted in .9167 fine gold (22 karat), this coin features the distinguished obverse design of Lady Liberty by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, against a backdrop of the Capitol building. The reverse, designed by Miley Busiek, showcases a male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and eaglets, embodying American family values and freedom. The PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) certification confirms the coin's authenticity and condition, offering assurance to collectors and investors of its graded quality. The 1987 Gold Eagle is highly valued for its historical significance as one of the early releases in this bullion series, making it a sought-after piece for those looking to add a certified coin of enduring value and aesthetic appeal to their collection.
