Description
The 1787-2014 “EB” Brasher Doubloon Commemorative is a privately issued gold tribute to Ephraim Brasher’s legendary 1787 New York-style Doubloon, one of the most celebrated rarities in American numismatics. Struck in 2014 by Gallery Mint using traditional minting techniques, this commemorative contains approximately 0.848 troy oz of .9999 fine gold and weighs 26.4 grams. Master engraver Ron Landis recreated the historic design, featuring a heraldic eagle with an olive branch and arrows, 13 stars representing the original colonies, and the distinctive “EB” hallmark, while the opposite side depicts a radiant sun rising above mountains and water. Each piece was produced using a screw press and individually finished to evoke the character of the original 18th-century coin. Certified and encapsulated by NGC for authenticity and preservation, this impressive gold commemorative combines substantial precious-metal content with a faithful tribute to an iconic piece of early American coinage.
