Description
A hundred grams of .9999 fine gold, 3.215 troy ounces, in a vintage bar from N M Rothschild & Sons. Rothschild ran the Royal Mint Refinery in London from 1852, when it took the lease from the government, until it sold the works to Engelhard in the late 1960s; the refinery's bars were accepted as good delivery in the London market. The front carries the Rothschild & Sons name with the family emblem, the weight, and the fineness on a plain rectangular cast bar. These are older bars with earlier owners, so expect handling marks and the finish of their era rather than a mirror.
