Description
One troy ounce of .999 fine silver in the Statue of Liberty bar that Manfra, Tordella & Brookes, the dealer known as MTB, had struck by Johnson Matthey in the 1980s. The Statue of Liberty stands on the front; the JM name sits with the weight and fineness, and later strikes carry a 1982 MTB copyright line. Johnson Matthey made bars for 162 years and sold its gold and silver refining business to Asahi in 2015, so these only turn up second-hand.
Expect the light handling marks of a forty-year-old bar. On a vintage bar the test matters more than the stamp, and every one is tested here first.
