Description
One troy ounce of .9999 fine gold from The Perth Mint in its cast button format: a small square block about 19 by 19 millimeters and 5 thick, poured in a mold rather than struck. The Mint's swan hallmark is stamped into it, with a second stamp giving the Mint's name, the fineness, and Western Australia. There is no serial number, and the finish and shape vary a little from bar to bar.
A cast button holds its ounce thick rather than wide. The Perth Mint has refined gold since 1899 and is owned by the Government of Western Australia. With no serial number, the test is what stands behind the stamp, and every one is tested here before it ships.
