Description
One troy ounce of .9999 fine gold from Rand Refinery in South Africa, established in 1920 by the Chamber of Mines, in its Loxodonta design. One side carries Rand's droplet emblem, Au 999.9, 1oz FINE GOLD, and the serial number; the other is a herd of elephants in relief with LOXODONTA, the elephant's genus name, along the bottom.
The bar is sealed in a card marked RAND SECURE, black or red depending on stock. Rand's card now shows the elephant side facing out. This is the same 1 oz Rand bar stocked by Costco.
